TOPIC: what would you do?

what would you do? 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 9
Yesterday i was out on my scooter with the dog at Snowden field. I saw a man walking his dog and the dog stopped to do it's business. He was about 30ft from a dog litter bin and between the houses and the death slide where there were several children playing. I was going to the dog bin and after dropping in my package I went past where his dog had messed to find a huge pile still sitting there. I could see him still and he was within catch up distance. I had a poo bag with me and contemplated going up to him and giving him it and saying something along the lines of 'you can have one of mine if you've forgotten yours' but I chickened out and didn't.

He was about 40, bald and as I say the dog was a German Shepherd.

What would you have done?

The eternal conundrum.

In the past my wife and I have confronted similar offenders. (My wife moreso than me. Often racing across many metres to the cuplrit. and she is only 5ft tall !!!)
I am pleased to dsay that it has been met with a positive result on most occasions. There were the odd occsaion when it was met with verbal abuse or just silent ignorance.

However, sadly in today's society, one has to remember there is always that one in a million chance you could lose your life over something so trivial.

You must consider the "what if's" in each situation. I have been verbally abused by gentle looking elderly women !! and being 40 and bald would not necessary mean he was a bad person.

Most likely, in the situation you describe, I would have left well alone.

I must confess that I would have been too "chicken" to have confronted him. However, if my boyfriend had seen the chap, I know he would have had no trouble in marching up to him and telling him exactly what to do with his dog's poo!

I am not sure what I would do, but being a responsible dog owner , who picks up after my dogs, I am afraid that this balding 40 something man gives us all a bad reputation whenever a none dog walker comes across dog poo and tars us all with the same brush. So bearing that in mind, I might just have reminded him that he would give me a bad name if he did not pick up.

I would have said something to him.

But then again I am 6ft 3 and quite prepared to stand up to any one regardless of build etc.

Its a difficult one if your not my size.

Saying that I once watched a pub landlady of around 5ft and 50ish grab a young man bigger then me and physically kicked him out of the pub. Now she was scary!
