Last couple of nights at about 11.45pm (ish) has anyone noticed the bright shiney object passing silently from west to east? I think it's the International Space Station, or some other large satellite.

It's a really bright object due to the angle to the sun at this time of the year with the sun not too long set.

I was looking facing south - you should see it pass from right to left (west to east) heading out over The Wash.

Indeed it is the International Space Station (ISS).

It passed over at about 00.10am tonight (10 minutes passed midnight)

So bright and at 200 miles out!

I'll have to tell my other half, he will be fascinated but I'm not sure he will be able to stay awake long enough to see it!

Never mind - it should be in orbit for the next 25 years at least.

It looks like it's current orbit is slipping further south, but keep checking:

It passes in about 5 minutes or so. I think it orbits at 17,000 mph so by the time you see it exit to the east it's already over Turkey.
