We popped down to the the Italian friday night for a bite to eat and discovered new people running the resturant.

You go away for a week and everything changes!

I had a very nice meat balls and Amanda said her pizza was very nice and light.

They have a new menu as well.

We had a family meal out at the Italian about 6 weeks ago (about 8 of us) and it was said at the time that the chef had some health problems, so perhaps this is all linked together.

I was not too impressed with my meal, probably because I simply chose the wrong item for that day - it happens. Everyone else liked their meal.

On a slightly different note, try out the George and Angel. We ate there a couple of weeks back and liked the food, service and the new surroundings. We have family coming up this weekend, and will give them a try out - the George and Angel, not the family.

Beat you Lion Andy - was in on Thursday!

Obviously a story on the change somewhere - I understand the current "management" are the owners of the property - make of that what you will.

On a lighter note, our first visit to the Italian was with an Italian friend - he went for steak and chips!

Thanks for the info on the G & A Cotton Bud.

We have had a very nice meal at the Italian with the previous owners, but when I tried to book a table for last Saturday 26th September, the telephone number was discontinued, and despite looking through Yell.com., Crowland-Links and the Parish magazine etc, was unable to find a new telephone number. I tried to book at the G&A but no-one answered the phone there, so we went to The Wheatsheaf at Moulton Chapel and had a very good meal!

I noticed that the menus currently in use have a Deeping (01778) number printed on them, so guess the new people haven't sorted the phone out yet.

I heard today that one of the orginal team had a heart attack which may have something to do with the change of management.

Well I have now lost count the number of times I have been to the Italian (couldn't tell you what it is called.....never thought to look)

Whilst on the Sleigh run I would pop in and pick up a tray of pasta as a take out for a fiver!....bargin!

They will also do a pizza, as a take out, for a fiver as well. These are far far better then any other Pizzas avliable in Crowland.

Everyone give them a try they really are nice people and the food is excellent.

Had trouble finding a phone number, thought it was in this thread somewhere - WRONG! - it's 01733 211055 and called Calisi da Francino - hopefully save others a search.

PS Real reason for post is so that I can find it next time I want it.
