the bakery does also do coffee to take away. Take yourself down there and introduce yourself to Guy and his hot paninis (is that how you spell it). A lot of the workers from Morgan Est are to be found in there first thing ordering their food.

There used to be a nice one opposite the Crowland Cancer Shop. It closed sometime ago and is a dwelling now.

Whilst I would also like to see a variaty of shops in Crowland the hard facts are that anyone is taking a huge finacial gamble when opening a shop or any other business. And if the maths dont add up they will not open up.

The bottom line is that we the public have only our selves to blame. We choose how we spend our money and the fact is that we all like to spend it in Tescos or one of the many other supermarkets.

When the motorcar was a rare sight in Crowland we had a butcher on North, South, East and West street and a poultry specialist down Peterborough road. Just ask Gordon how much it has changed in the 25 plus years of his trading.

I know of one couple (not in Crowland by the way) who moan about the demise of the village store and expect every one to support the shop but will quite happily get everything from Asda and have it delivered. They didn't even know what the shop sold!

A massive pile driver arrived in North Street this morning (on a low loader) to assist with the new development. The residents of Abbeygate will be shaken but hopefully not stirred.
