i take it that the point is that that means no parking outside the hardware shop where people have always been able to park. Am I right?

Since yesterday and I presume so. It doesn't look good either - bright yellow lines on the cobbled area. So far its being ignored by a couple of cars belonging to Millennium (I think) and hardware shop customers. Really can't see the point of them.

I see what you mean. Perhaps they were meant to paint them along the road side to discourage those drivers who obstruct the narrow road where visability is restricted by the bridge. I rang Lincolnshire highways (they have the most awful on hold tune I have ever heard) and they will investigate. Watch this space!

No they removed the ones that went straight along the road and repainted them around the kerb. Spoke to Martin; hes not happy as you can imagine & on the case too I think.

I couldn't believe my eyes this morning when I saw where the double yellow lines were painted outside Martin's hardware shop. I can't see the reasoning for it, as it has always been a safe off-road place to park. Poor Martin, he must be hopping mad.

It does spoil the cobbled look quite considerably too.

However, I think there are a couple of good reasons why they have done this.

1. White Van man and there are loads who park there, overhang the cobbled area restricted the width of the road at a critical pinchpoint.

2. There is now a clear view through Trinity Bridge from Thorney road making traffic approaching the staggered junction more visible.

Notwithstanding, I spotted 3 cars parked in that cobbled area at 5pm this evening.
