Well they were both pubs and are now closed

Sorry couldn't help myself.

Well one still exists if in name only and is very popular with the very younger generation.

And the other was smack on the county border amongst a row of houses along a river thats no where to be seen.

There that's made it so simple now!

Durham OX - now a private house - its in nene terrace - take the road to thorney and as you drive through the terrace passing the defunct Methodist Chapel its on your right.

I seem to remember my Grandpa saying that his uncle had it for a bit but that must have been over 100 yrs ago.

The former landlord of the G and A, the indomitable Mr R Boot had a book containing all of the pubs and their respective landlords at the appropriate time going back donkeys years, I seem to remember. I hope such a tome finds its way to someone who will look after it for posterity.

Looks like there's been some serious weeding going on around the Bridge Inn

Any idea when it's re-opening ?

Sign spotted outside Ye Olde Bridge Inn today says that the bar will open at 12.00 tomorrow and that the kitchen will open soon.
