Hi anthony2k10 The Carpenters Arms was in South Street on the right near the junction with Abbey Walk. The building is still there but empty now (some work had begun but not completed).

About 18 months ago a man came into the cancer fund shop to buy some bits, his son had just bought the Carps and was converting it onto a home as it has now had it's public house licence withdrawn. I think he is still doing it up.

It used to be handy as when we first moved here you could cut through from Hereward walk? in Broadway to South street via the Carps garden area. it made the walk to the Snowden fields and the surgery much shorter.
