FWIW if we want to receive Anglia region broadcasts we really need to point our broadband aerials toward Sandy Heath. The problem is that Crowland is on the edge of the Anglia region (in broadcasting terms) and we can get much stronger signals from the East Mids and Northern transmitters. The problem will be resolved in a couple of years when they quadruple the power output following the digital changeover
So they say, we will end up with the near nothing like this new road. Should have been a dual carrageway not this single. It will be full of tractors by next year and loads of head on accidents. I hope that Crowland will still get some people visiting the shops. Or will this be our route 66 moment. A road lined with Ghost towns. LOL

The other day I was travelling back from Spalding with my brother driving (he was visiting me from Wales) and we wanted to turn right off 1073 at Thorney road junction to get to James road. Well, there is a slip road to turn right, but when reaching junction we had to go across intersection to wait on left of this to get across 1073 to James rd side. This is scary, because if a vehicle wants to cross over to Thorney road from James rd side, they have to go across your path if turning right off 1073. I visualised a collision as we crossed over the intersection. Has anyone else tried this yet, for those who like this sort of stress, it is a real thrill seeker!!!!

Does anyone know when they are planning to open the stretch of new road from the Crowland roundabout to peterborough? Have they managed to sort out the sinking road?

I think this will be a long way off yet as I expect they will be having arguments about whose fault is was and who will pay for the additional works to be done!

According to one of the management guys who drives up and down the road in an important looking truck with a yellow light, the road will be open in six weeks. Wearing my sceptic's hat and little else I challenged him, "And from which date in the future do the six weeks commence?". In a more than plausable and stentorian tone he confidently replied, "From last Wednesday!!" There you have it! But don't hold yer breath!

OK NOAM BISHON, you said six weeks, so we're holding you to it, I'm going to hold my breath for that time and if I die BEFORE the road opens, then I'll come back and haunt you!!!!!!

Please don't hold your breath, the information man (with important vehicle!) could have got confused, as I read in Gardian news that the road from james road roundabout to cowbit will be closed for next six weeks. Why? don't know, just reported what was in the paper.

I'm certain that the six is correct, just doubt the weeks -
months.....years......decades........centuries?
According to "someone with a fancy title" from Lincolnshire County Council on the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire BBC news recently, the taxpayer will cough up as usual.
