Unless you are from London we could never never be considered as "North".
We have always been in the "East" or "Midlands" regions. Being on the edge of both we don't really feature in either that much. Peterborough does tend to feature more as there is a brief news summary for the "West" of the BBC East region.

Dont hark at me. I have more aerials than GCHQ and those bloody Northerners in Hell sorry Hull have a better signal than Look East. Some days I get look east on the digifail but get a great Anglia signal on the analogue. I always thought we was in East Anglia.
But the TV people think we are in Yorkshire. Cant stand that news reader. Give me Look East anyday. Shows how important we are Yorks and Lincs, Its L before Y, They get lost if they come down here to report anything. Or is it they dont want to pay the humber bridge toll. Could it be the legend of the Fen Tigers.

So, here's a quandry for you re: TV signals and area...

...on my Digital TV I get East Midlands Today, on my Digital Hard Disk Drive/DVD recorder I get Anglia TV and on my Sky HD box (which is supposed to be latest technology) I get North!

FWIW if we want to receive Anglia region broadcasts we really need to point our broadband aerials toward Sandy Heath. The problem is that Crowland is on the edge of the Anglia region (in broadcasting terms) and we can get much stronger signals from the East Mids and Northern transmitters. The problem will be resolved in a couple of years when they quadruple the power output following the digital changeover
