Sunday 19th October 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 2
Yest another meeting has come and gone. Although we did not have a huge turnout we have some great races. With the number of laps for the three minutes races hitting the 40-42 figures. The quality has imprives in just the few weeks and it is a pleasure to see the enjoyment the kids have.
In fact our youngest racer is not yet four and has only been coming for the past two meetings. He has apparently enjoyed it some much his parents hear about nothing but Scalextric.
For me this is what this club is all about.

Next event is in two weeks - Sunday 2nd November starting at 3pm - 5.30pm

Sounds like your club is really taking off now. I wish i could say the same for my arts and craft group but heh ho I live in hope. Although I'm not into scalectrix I do enjoy following how the club is going.

It's often difficult at first. It does take more than a few posts in a forum to get something started. You have to "spread the fire".

1. Post invites to other people: you can do this either through the group "invite" or through My Menu "Invite a Friend".

2. Tell friends, neighbours, and anyone else who might listen, about what you are trying to do and what you are trying to establish.

3. Visit forums that specialise in your interest and tell them what you're doing. The internet is an interesting format - tell it here - it come out there!

Starting a new group, club or idea takes time, resilience and determination. But bringing it to fruition takes a lot of time and effort - but it's a delight!

Drop me a PM (Private Message) if you want some help or advice.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have arranged for an Ad for the next edition of the Crowland Magazine so hopefully will help spread the word. There is a lot of support from Crowland people so the word is starting to get out. I think the fortnightly setup is not exactly coming across as one Mum mentioned that they came looking for the club last weekend so hopefully when the Crowland Magazine is printed more people will have the exact dates.
I feel highly motivated and the hard work really pays off. I have said this before and will mentioned to anyone that listens - for me it watching the kids having a couple of hours of fun. There is little around for kids these days and hopefully if this becomes successful then others may follow and provide similar activities.
