this coming Sunday Alice Hendy is organising a litter pick around Crowland

It starts at 10am at Snowden Field and will go on until 12 noon.

This is a simple but effective idea of making a difference in Crowland and putting something back into our Community (or removing depending on how you look at it)

I'm taking part.

I don't know who Alice Hendy is but a big well done for coming up with the idea.

As I was on my way to work this morning around 10:45, I'm sure I saw some vizzed-up youths in orange tabards with a "Community Payback" logo enjoying a litter pick.
Was I seeing things or has the justice system come to its senses at last?

Was this part of Alice Hendy's chain-gang?

May I offer a HUGE "Well Done" to all concerned. Have just returned after a quick walk around town to chill out and the place looks amazing.

I turned up just after 10 and there was no-one in the Snowden car park so I cycled to the Low Road picnic site and did my own litter pick there. I collected half a black bag of assorted rubbish and some broken glass. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get in to the dykes to clear them due to my defective knee. Among my collection was a single toddler's sandal, car mud flaps, a dog poo in a plastic bag and many plastic drinks bottles. There sure are some dirty so-and-so's about.

oh we were there but out and about around the playing fields.

rather strangly the community pay back gang arrived to do just what we allready had.

I approached them to see who they where and I was asked why I didnt have my orange bib on!

end result a car load of rubbish collected and destined for the tip.
