We commence our winter programme with a visit by Rachel Price who is a member of the Cambridgeshire wildlife trust. Her topic will be 'wildlife in the Peterbough area'.This is a return visit by Rachel and it will be interesting to learn more of what is on our doorstep. The date is October 20th ,7,30 pm in the Methodist Church, Reform st Crowland. Our second visitor is Mr Jeff Goodley who is nature conservation officer with South Holland District council,his talk will explain the work of a conservation officer in a local authority. Jeff and his team recently carried out an appraisal of potential wildlife sites in our parish and we are pleased to say the pond and shrub areas planted by the group is recognised as a ' site of nature conservation importance' [snci]and agreed by The Lincolnshire Biodiversity Partnership,[lbp] to be listed as a Local Wildlife Site,[LWS].
