"My Messages" is your Private Messaging System. You can use it to receive and send messages to selected Users, but you MUST first be a member and be logged-in to use it.
Access to "My Messages" is from the "My User Menu" which appears to the left once you've logged in. Any User on the "Community List" can receive and send Private Messages, but you must first be logged-in. When you receive a message, your login panel will show an Icon and say "You have a Private Message". You can go to the Private Message Box directly to read your new message by clicking on the "You have a Private Message" link. From within the Private Message Box you can also adjust "Settings." This gives options whether you want to receive an email alert everytime someone sends you a message. In your Private Message Box you have a number of Items: InBox, OutBox, Waste Bin, Compose. To send a Private Message go to "Compose." A new dialogue box will open. Select the "Show Users" link on the right. A drop down menu will appear. Select the menu down-arrow and the Community List will appear. Select the username you wish to send your Private Message to. This name will be automatically placed in the "To:" box. You can select multiple users to receive your message by selecting another Username (each name will be separated by a "," (comma). When you've finished selecting names, compose your message. You can add a number of Smilies from the selection available; you can also customise your text from the edit bar. You are allowed up to 1,000 characters in your message. When finished, click the "Send" button and you're done.
