1st Crowland Scout Group

It is with regret that I am letting you know that with effect from the 10th July 2010, the Crowland Scout Group will no longer be meeting.

Scout sessions have been running on a Saturday since Christmas in the hope that we would be able to secure some support from parents or elsewhere for the permanent running of the Group. Unfortunately this has not bee the case, and the Group cannot continue to be run by temporary leaders on a long-term basis, as this is neither fair to the young people or the leaders concerned.

There are now two options for those youngsters wanting to continue in Scouting: either to switch to another Group in the District (Pinchbeck, Moulton & Whaplode or Long Sutton in the Spalding District) or to switch to a neighbouring District, the closest being Stamford & Bourne. There is a Scout Group based in the Deepings in this District, for more details please contact Anthony Hockey, District Commissioner on 01780 720396.

Of course, if in the future the local community decides it wants to support Scouting in Crowland there is always the possibility of reintroducing it, but at the present time this is just not possible.
