Connections provide you with the ability to directly connect with other users by creating links in your personal Profile. This gives you chance to continually see if they change their Profile and add images. Connections creates a list of those people so you can send them "Private Messages." They are mutually agreed connections. One user makes the invitation, the other accepts or declines.
To select a user to Connect to, first make sure you are logged-in. In Your User Menu click on "Community List." A list of all the members of the community will appear. Click on the person's Username or Avatar who you want to Connect with. Their Profile box will appear. In their Profile box move your mouse over the tab called "Connections." You will see a drop-down menu appear and the word "Request Connection." Click on "Request Connection." A message dialogue box will appear, asking you to write a short note to invite this user to connect with you. Write your brief invitation and click "Submit." The invited user will then receive an email inviting them to either "Accept" or "Decline" your invitiation to Connect. You will receive an email saying whether they accepted or declined your invitation. If they accepted, then you will see their Profile picture in your Profile box.
